(10th June 1844 - 24th February 1919)

Born in Utrecht, Holland. Originally an officer in the Dutch Army. Amateur magician, specialized in mental magic. Moved to USA in 1877 where he worked in New York City as a merchant until his death. Invented the palm change (by 1897).
