Alfancena Millicent Barrett
Alfancena Millicent Barrett a native of Jamaica West Indies presently resides in Snellville, Georgia. A five time cancer survivor of three different kinds of cancers and author of the book titled, The Faces of Struggles Such As Cancers Are On The Journey To God's Glory!
She is the third child and first girl of Victor and Roslyn Barrett. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at the early age of 11 years old. A Graduate of Mount Nebo Primary, Guy's Hill High, Saint Joseph Teachers' college (Jamaica) and Delaware Technical and Community College. She achieved Associates Degrees in Early Childhood Education (SUMMA CUM LAUDE) and Human Services (MAGNA CUM LAUDE). She made the Dean's list each semester while in college and the Governor's list twice. She is a loving mother to her adopted son Villair Barrett.
She is an accomplished, creative, and dedicated Early Childhood (infant) teacher, who is presently medically retired. She really does miss working with the children.
As a cancer survivor, she was a member of the following organizations: Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, the local chapter of The Lymphoma Society and Sisters On Mission. She enjoyed volunteering to spread the word about the importance of early detection. She is still fairly new to her new state and have not connected to any new group as yet. But, she hopes to get back in the swing of things to help save lives.
With humility Alfancena will proudly state, all that she has achieved and who she is today, she owes it all to God, through Jesus Christ His son. One of her favorite songs sums it all up, “To God Be the Glory for the Things He Hath Done.”
