Though autobiographical, this book gives insights into other cultures in the rapidly developing nation of Papua New Guinea. Aiyura National High School 1978 to 85 was part of a strategy to build the new nation and break down old tribal barriers by uniting young people (Grades 11 and 12) from all over the country, including the islands. Students from that time are now middle-aged professional, influential people - politicians, scientists, teachers, lawyers, journalists and so on who look back on their two years at Aiyura with nostalgia. They say the experience truly did help in creating national unity. Illustrated with photographs. All payments go to charity.
