A Graduate of Columbia College in Chicago, Benjamin DeHaven earned a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Tulane University New Orleans. After being ejected from John Tyler Community College for presenting an argument that Robert Frost was a frustrated homosexual who cried out for acceptance in the poem Birches. He has written for numerous magazines, media outlets, and edited screenplays.

DeHaven, who currently resides in Virginia, began his writing career with Stone United, a Chicago based Film Company, which works primarily in independent film. Additionally, he was the editor-in-chief The Nola Shopper, a free art circular and the 2nd largest monthly paper in the New Orleans, MSA.

As an unknown fiction writer, he feels the best description of himself, is a sarcastic one and is as follows:

Benjamin W. DeHaven was on a pool table in 1977 a couple days after new years eve when the booze ran dry-and "there wasn't much else to do." His personal success is outweighed only by his stunning good looks and adherence to unwritten moral guidelines. He has been described as a thinking man’s Tucker Max as well as an idiot’s Hunter S. Thompson. His ultimate dream is to die from an unwavering commitment to be more like Hemingway.
