Cheryl Brown-Avery
Cheryl Brown-Avery, Author/Motivational Speaker.
I'm a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, graduate of New Hanover High School Class of 1977. I'm the daughter of Anita W. Brown, Retired Franklin County School Teacher and father, the late Harry H. Brown, Jr., New Hanover County School Teacher, Wilmington, North Carolina. Step-father, Lieutenant Harold D. Brown, retired, Fire Inspector of the Wilmington, North Carolina Fire Department. I attended Sacred Heart College, Belmont, North Carolina and Louisburg College, BSW, Phi Theta Kappa. I retired early from teaching in order to fulfill my mission of traveling across the United States presenting motivational lectures to our youth on the dangers of drugs, gangs, etc. hoping to save as many youth as I can.
I attended the Tony Danza Show, New York in 2005. I was on several talk radio shows including a radio interview with Gayle Heard of the Tom Joyner Morning Show. I taped several television interviews including Triangle Profile. I was in the 63rd Annual Azalea Festival in Wilmington, North Carolina and have been invited back by the Azalea Festival to participate in the parade April 6-10, 2011. As God as my guide I will continue to advocate for our youth and donate my life to fulfilling my goals of saving our youth so one day these children can grow into successful adults.
