As the 3rd movement from the Suite Bergamasque opus number CD 82, L.75 Debussy commenced writing it in 1890 at age 28, but did not finish or publish it until 1905. It is the most famous movement of Suite bergamasque and its name comes from Paul Verlaines poem of the same name. Clair De Lune, the French term for moonlight has been orchestrated by many composers, including Andre Caplet, Leopold Stokowski, and Lucien Cailliet.
