Dana Jeteyeva

I was born in Kazakhstan and lived there till the beginning of 2012. Then fate brought me and my family to Great Britain.

My parents were doctors – surgeons and I always wanted to be a surgeon too, but parents insisted that I choose something else, so I decided to learn English and become a teacher. Times were difficult and changing. So after my first Institute I decided to continue my education and spent another two years getting my MBA in Marketing.

Then I worked in one of the biggest oil and gas companies of Kazakhstan, at the same time doing some translations for the International adoption agency.

During the 13 years of working in Tengizchevroil Company I gave birth to my three wonderful children, who inspire me to do what I do now.

Translating was just a hobby, until once my mum suggested that I should translate a book and publish it. It was so unrealistic at that time. Now I am thankful to her, as she made me feel more patriotic than ever. I want more people to learn about Kazakhstan. And I wish she could share this joy with me.

I want to dedicate this all to my late mum Svetlana and to my funny kids – Damira, Yenglik and Dimash, people, who always believe in me.
