Darren Mark Wright
Darren Mark Wright was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. He was a youth leader for the Churches of Christ from 1999-2009 and, since 2007, has been a Youth Worker at an Adelaide homeless youth shelter. He holds a Bachelor of Ministry and Theology (Double Degree) and is studying for Masters of Theology. Wright also works for the Royal Australian Army Reserves.
Wright published his first book, St. Patrick's Church, Part One: The Beginning of the End as a novel way of bridging the gap between theological academics and the non-academic community of everyday Church-goers and fringe-dwellers.
The trilogy, though yet to be completely written, has already scored Wright 3 years in a row of nominations for the national Young Australian Christian Writer's Award (2011, 2012 and 2013). In 2012, he received 3rd place.
His other work yet to be published includes thrilling escapades on the high seas, detective stories and suspenseful plays written for the stage - no story ending without a twist. All of this effort leading to the receiving of the City of Charles Sturt's "Art, Performance and Dance" Award 2013 for his contribution to literature.
