Denise Byers
Denise Byers is an author with 30 years of experience as a professional writer in communications, marketing, and public affairs.
In late 2011, Denise wrote and published her first book for children featuring a legally blind Princess that must “stare down” a misunderstood dragon in order to rescue her friend the Prince; on her journey she learns valuable life lessons about acceptance. That book, Princess Lydia and the Fire Breathing Dragon, won a Bronze Character Building Counts (CBC) Book Award and was illustrated by her daughter and business partner, Danielle Gray.
In 2011, Denise and her daughter, Danielle Gray, formed the company DanDeeLion Publishing. The company’s focus is to publish works directed at children that send educational messages of resiliency, empowerment and acceptance.
DanDeeLion’s goal is to write, illustrate and publish books in various formats for children and youth, especially those struggling to overcome various forms of adversity including physical and psychological conditions and unfavourable social and socio-economic situations.
DanDeelion Publishing’s motto is: DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE….All challenges can be overcome!
