Dr RICHARD CHAPMAN BVSc qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in1958 obtaining his degree from Bristol University in England. Of his 57 years in practice, he has spent 9 in England and 48 in Australia. Dr. Chapman practises Veterinary Medicine in the old-fashioned way: feeling with his fingertips, using his eyes, ears, sense of smell and a large dose of intuition. He mixes experience with wisdom, combining old and new practices, the holistic with the allopathic, and bush techniques with modern technology. This manual was written in response to requests from many of his clients who have come to rely on his knowledge and understanding of animals and the illnesses, accidents and ailments which beset them. He has always considered prevention is better than cure, so this book contains many well-proven and simple health-promoting practices. Writing in the same chatty way that he speaks to his clients, Dr. Chapman has provided a treasury of information, re-assurance, tips, and first aid techniques.
