Doorway to the Temple is about a journey taken to explore the sacred places of Brittany, a culturally and historically rich region in northwestern France. It is also a journey taken to try to answer the questions that come from within, the calling we all feel to leave one place for another. Most importantly, photographer Ralph Hassenpflug uses his magnificent, dreamlike images to tell the story of his personal journey inward to explore connections, symbols, and mysteries leading to the discovery of our innate capacity for the sacred. Writer and multimedia artist Kathryn Oliver uses her brilliant sensibilities regarding text and image to enhance the story of the journey. Doorway to the Temple is visual poetry. Its remarkable images will lead readers along their own journey of exploration and discovery of the sacred.
