Abdulaye Francis Chishala Chisembe Ccissoko, popularly known as Papa Chish or Chish-man by pals, is a born free Zambian educator and leadership mentor. A freelance-journalist trained by Writer’s Bureau and a graduate of the Centre for Film and Media Studies , University of Cape Town, (UCT Class of 2009) South Africa. He read philosophy at Arrupe College and obtained an honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ Class 0f 2003). He has also a degree from The Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA Class 2011) where he studied theology.
He has taught (2003-2005) African Literature, Commence and Environmental Science at Mukasa Minor Seminary in Choma Zambia. He was a part-time lecturer (2012-2013) at the Zambia Institute of Mass Communication Educational Trust (ZAMCOM) where he taught introduction to psychology and English for Special Purpose. He won first prize (2004) in a national essay competition organised by the Civic Education on introducing civic education in high schools. He is a member of the editorial board for the Challenge Magazine (Mission Press, Zambia), he also writes articles for the same publication. He currently writes features, columns and travelogue for The Voice Newspaper (Zambia). He has previously written for The Post, New People Magazine, JCTR Bulletin, Hekima Review and Chiedza Journal.
In 2009 he published two books with Lambert Publishers; How Policy and Regulation Impacts on Private Broadcasting: A Case Study of E.TV 2006 and Ethical Journalism.
He is an avid reader of any literary work creative fiction and creative non-fiction (Narrative Journalism) done by African or about Africa. He is currently in courtship with short story creative writing. He has done some amateur acting in his elementary years at Chamba Valley Primary School, Chakunkhula Basic and also during his theologate at Hekima College. He featured in a 2010 film production by the Kibera Theather and New People Media Center called Embanse of Hope written by Orobator. He has some of his poems published by many publications.
Born from a Moslem, Hausa father from Guinea Bissau and a protestant Mother; a Tabwa from Kaputa Northern Zambia. Raise a catholic and started school in Salesian parish along the pedicle road at Mokambo (DR Congo) and went to a Jesuit college Charles Lwanga College of Education where he obtain a teaching certificate (1996). He is a former Munali Boys (Class of 1993). He is an ordained Jesuit Catholic priest and he has done ministry at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer (Matero, Lusaka – 2011-2013). He currently assists at Gesu Parish, University Heights, Cleveland Ohio USA. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in communications management specialising in public relations at John Carroll University in Cleveland Ohio USA.
