Judi Hofmeister
Judi Hofmeister was hired at Douglas County High School in 1993 after leaving a ten-year professional performing-arts career, which included performances at many different Denver area theaters, such as the Country Dinner Playhouse, the Arvada Center of Arts and Humanities, and Littleton Town Hall Arts Center. Miss Hofmeister has since taught theater, dance, and vocal music and sat as chair of the performing-arts department at DCHS. In 2000, Judi was selected as the only Colorado public-school dance teacher to help develop and pilot the International Baccalaureate (IB) dance program. Her work on the IB Dance curriculum required multiple trips abroad to the UK. Today her IB Dance program continues to be the only one of its kind in the state of Colorado. Judi has had the opportunity to sit on the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) State Dance Standards Committee and was awarded Dance Educator for 2009 by the Colorado Dance Alliance (CDA). Judi continues her work in developing performing-arts curriculum at Lone Tree Arts Center, as facilitator for the CDE Dance Curriculum Project, and as a reviewer for the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards in Dance (NCCAS). She is also a member of the Colorado Dance Endorsement Committee and is president of the Colorado Dance Educator Organization (CoDEO). Judi attended the University of Denver, Loretto Heights College, and Regis University.
