Kevin Smith was born in London and grew up in Northern Ireland. He has worked in print, broadcast and newswire journalism in Ireland and the UK, and was a foreign correspondent in Eastern Europe for a number of years. He lives in Dublin with his wife, two children and a springer spaniel.
