Kirk Marty

Kirk Marty is the pen name of longtime Ventura, California attorney and dedicated Dodger fan, Kirk Grossman. His first novel, lp=109140 The Longest Walk], a baseball fantasy and recipient of two book awards (Indie Excellence and Pinnacle Book Achievement), combines his love for the game, its history and the magic only it can evoke.

Kirk has been writing in one form or another for decades. As he says: "The way I see it I've been a professional writer for over 35 years. As a practicing attorney, I've cranked-out literally hundreds of thousands of pages of mumbo-jumbo. Legal writing provides great instruction on the wrong way to create fiction, although some attorneys often confuse the two. Still, it is the type of writing that requires great precision and focus -- qualities needed for good fiction as well."

Kirk has just finished his second novel, Adverse Possession, a legal thriller. "I'm an attorney. I couldn't help myself," he confesses. Publication and release is expected sometime next year. Future projects include a follow-up to Adverse Possession, and a novel about the 1960's. Born in Oakland, California July 3, 1950, Kirk lives in Ventura with his lovely wife of 25 years, Aline, a retired language teacher and former California Teacher of the Year. Kirk is a graduate of U.C Santa Barbara and Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. In addition to writing, he likes gardening, hiking and collecting baseball bobbleheads.
