When the third edition was published in 1925, it was a much improved play with a foreword that clarified the play's structure and ideas. The play premiered in the United States on Broadway at the Princess Theatre in 1922. Later on, it was revived in 1963 at the Martinique Theatre where it ran for over a year. The play is often discussed among study circles, literary circles, and writers and scholars.
