M. Jude Gove
M. Jude Gove grew up in a small town in Arizona and graduated from high school in the early 80's, but not without a long struggle with a reading disorder. Although reading was difficult through his early years, spelling was an even greater hardship for him all through school. In spite of that, during his sophomore year of high school, he discovered his love of writing. It started with a journal that the English teacher had the class keep. He had to write five pages a week, but the class could write ten with the last five being extra credit. He quickly realized that he needed the extra credit to offset his spelling test failures. At first, he wrote anything to fill up the pages, but later he started writing short stories. Week after week in his humble little journal, his imagination grew.
M. Jude Grove now realizes, that he received his vast imagination from his dear departed father, who wrote both witty, as well as serious, poetry. In memory of his father, he named the narrator in Artisans of Time, Ed, after him.
