he political situation stabilized somewhat during the first half of 2015. A new government was appointed in January, with a mandate to implement sound public financial management after the governance lapses of 2014. In June, the government signed a peace agreement with rebel groups, involving more decentralization and the implementation of development projects in the North and other parts of the country. However, the security situation remains fragile, with continuing attacks by jihadist groups, especially in the North. There have also been attacks in the South, including a deadly one in Bamako targeting expatriates in March. On the economic side, the recovery has entered its third year, and growth is projected to remain robust in the near term.
