Michael Haas (Ph.D., Stanford), Professor of Political Science, University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (retired), is the author of over 40 books, most recently International Human Rights: A Comprehensive Introduction (2008); George W. Bush, War Criminal? (2009); Looking for the Aloha Spirit (2010), Barack Obama, The Aloha Zen President (2011), Modern Cambodia’s Emergence from the Killing Fields (2011), and Mr. Calm and Effective: Evaluating the Presidency of Barack Obama (2012). He is President of the Los Angeles-based Political Film Society. For his work on behalf of human rights, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
