After twenty years as an elementary teacher, Betty Nowell starts to feel ennui set in, until one night when she talks her detective husband, Frog, into letting her tag along on a murder scene at the nearby university campus. At the scene, Betty comes to the realization that she has a bigger calling than teaching the third grade, and that is to solve this case! The problem is she has to do it all without letting her husband, who is the detective on the case, find out. The amateur sleuth is determined to crack the case, especially when she sees the police department is getting nowhere. She is so determined that she takes sabbatical and enrolls at the very university at which the murder took place, jus to get closer to the crime. Dodging her husband, she starts her own full-blown investigation, and even uses herself as bait. The question is, can she catch the killer before Frog catches her?
