Padrone was written for the teen and young adult audience. I wanted to give them a story filled with action, adventure and fun to replace the heavy magic and dark characters seen on bookshelves today. What I did not expect with my initial test audience, however, is how many adults fell in love with it as well. Set in the time of knights and combat, Padrone Is sent from heaven to help Baltric, a country on the verge of losing their homeland to the invading Tiernan army. To add to the crisis, their king lays wounded and dying, leaving no heir to take over the kingdom. Clothed in a mortal body but with his memories intact, Padrone must somehow turn the tides of war while helping a young servant boy become the next king. My joy in writing Padrone was making it from the horse's perspective. From this unique angle, the reader not only receives insight into the spiritual and equine aspects, but shares in his thoughts, feelings, and, best of all, sense of humor. The finished word count is 76,543 words. Yes, I would be honored to do appearances or whatever is necessary to advance the book.
