Ray Ndebi

Born on September 23rd 1976 in Douala the economic capital of Cameroon, René Théodore Ndébi (being his real name) is the third of a four-child family. When he was 10, he showed real passion for writing. He used to write love letters for his friends and other schoolmates. At 12 he created Starfox a superhero fighting naughty aliens whose aim was to destroy our planet. But the project did not go through, as his father only wanted his sons to study. All hobbies were prohibited. In 1991, when both his parents lost their jobs and misery set in, Rene Ndébi turned to rap music. Writing and singing his daily pains with his friends along the street of Douala. He strove to go to school after a four-year break and In 2002, he graduated from the Cambridge International College – Douala campus. He excitedly looked for a job, but he found none! Poetry became his universe. Lots and lots of poems he wrote both in French and in English. Because his own books were rejected, he dedicated his talent to helping and guiding young and unknown writers as well as laureates of some international writing contests.

In July 2013, he received a call from AuthourhouseUK about a book he wrote in 2008. The Last Ghost was written after a very serious sickness which almost killed him in 2007.

The Last Ghost as his first official book is not just a bunch of papers bound together; it is the first cry of a newborn child. His models are Nelson Mandela, Aimé Césaire, Ghandi, and Martin Luther King.
