The memoir details the author's life leading up the genocide in 1994. She describes how she had to hide in a bathroom and tried to discover God for three months. She had to live in a refugee camp until she eventually recovered from the ordeal. The book proved to be a New York Times Bestseller. After this book, the author wrote a sequel "Led by Faith." Her next book was "The Rosary." In that book she investigates the history and purpose of her prayers which proved to be her savior during the genocide in Rwanda.
