Dr. Rebecca Deurlein, aka Dr. D, is a 20-year veteran teacher, mother of two young adults, and a writer. She holds a doctorate in education and has spent her lifetime researching teen behavior and learning strategies. She specializes in understanding and correcting behavior issues and motivating children to higher levels of critical thinking.

Dr. D is a seasoned public speaker who shares a combination of humorous personal experiences, educational research, and down-to-earth practical advice for parents. She volunteers in the Houston community, chairing the Literacy Initiative for Sugar Land Rotary and donating her writing and marketing skills to several non-profit organizations. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Achieve Fort Bend, a dropout prevention program focused on fostering teen motivation and career exploration. Dr. D lives in Houston, Texas, and teaches English at Fort Bend Christian Academy. She formerly taught in the Naperville Public School System, outside of Chicago, IL; The Forsyth County School System in Atlanta, GA; and the Roanoke Public School System in Roanoke, VA.

She owns a freelance writing business and in her spare time enjoys combat kickboxing and yoga.
