S. Kent Olson

I, S. Kent Olson, was born in 1946 in Barron county Wisconsin to second and third generation Norwegian parents. I was raised there on a dairy farm, which I still own. I attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, majoring in history. Having worked my way through college as a carpenter, I continued that work after graduating, running a home improvement company for 45 years. I have written as a hobby for a number of years, but this is my first full length novel. I worked on "Three Tyrannies" in my spare time for five years.

Wisconsin has a rich history as an abolitionist stronghold, and Grant county particularly, was an abolitionist center. Many young men from Wisconsin fought and died in the Civil war as did a number of freed blacks who lived here.

I would be interested in hearing from people who have stories handed down from family members who fought in that war; and in particular, from those have read my book and who would like to comment.

I am currently writing a novel about a late Viking expedition to (what is now) America. (looking for a publisher) S. Kent Olson ... [email protected]
