Simon Andrew Stirling

Simon Andrew Stirling trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) before turning professional as a writer. He wrote scripts for theatre and television, winning a Writers' Guild Award in 1995. He also scripted programmes dealing with the history of science and mathematics for the Open University, and one of his first theatrical commissions was performed at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, in 1991.

Simon's wife was born in Stratford-upon-Avon. They were married on the Isle of Iona in Scotland, after which Simon returned to two of his favourite research projects: the historical origins of the Arthurian legends and the life and times of William Shakespeare. The first fruits of those labours were published in 2012 and 2013 by The History Press. Simon now lives in rural Worcestershire, England, and lectures in Screenwriting at the University of Worcester while continuing his historical studies of the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

He regularly publishes updates on his latest research and experiences in publishing at www.artandwill.blogspot.co.uk
