I looked out the window and saw all of Washington D.C. burning. Our nation's capital had fallen. Buildings were collapsing and people who couldn't get out of the way in time were being crushed and swallowed into the cloud of dirt and metal. Barro flew by the White House. It was barely standing. Half of it was collapsed and the other half was on fire. The only thing left was the American flag waving proudly on the flagpole. I watched Old Glory wave in the midst of explosions and dirt before it was taken down and replaced with a Republic flag. The war had started and no one was safe. It was four years and millions of lives later until the last gunshot of the war rang out over Washington D.C.
