I am Elia Sanchez, widow of Dr. Felix J. Sanchez. When my husband was writing this novel, The Crystal Castle, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He had three months to live and he could not finish the novel, so he asked me to finish it. With his great imagination, he has created an incredible piece of literature. He brings us through many scenarios starting at the end of the 1800s to the 1950s. This is an epic novel picturing the lives of the German aristocracy and moving us to the United States and to the high end life in Boston and in Texas. The main theme of the novel is about the hard way a young man tries to fulfill the legacy of his father, Count Erik Von Hauster, whom he admired so much. His father tells him that he will find himself and do wonders with his life when he discovers the meaning of crystal. Before his father dies, he asked him to build a crystal castle, A castle for my ancestry and crystal for my love of diamonds. In the end, he discovers the meaning of crystal and the purpose of his life.
