Bart and Nathalie, together with another couple, are going on a vacation. They fall out of an airplane and land in the desert. They hide under the parachute when a man with a huge bird walks towards them. The man turns out to be their traveling guide. They meet sand curtain knitters in the desert and Woeba who boils water in to the desert. How this is done is described through pictures. The genre is semi-realism. The major stimulant for this book is the idea of how to boil water in to the desert.
Tudor, the first name of the author, came from his grandfather's pseudonym. He derived it from the word Tutor. The author's background is in medical science and not chemistry or physics as the book suggests.
