This book explains how the laws of Special Relativity (SR) arise from the wave nature of matter. First, we show that relatively moving observers who make time and distance measurements using waves will find that their measurements are related by the Lorentz transformations. Second, we use a simple model of matter consisting of waves propagating in circles in order to explain how other physical quantities transform due to relative motion. Our interpretation of SR as a property of wave measurements in Galilean space-time correctly implies that matter should have other wave-like properties. In contrast, the usual interpretation of SR as a geometrical property of space-time is unrelated to the nature of matter. Hence our interpretation is not only simpler, it is also more predictive.
