While attending the University of Colorado at Boulder as an undergrad studying in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Peter Jakel rejected the existence of a God of any religious faith. Instead, he turned to secular science for an explanation of human existence, meaning and creation. After years of fruitless pursuit of an undeniable scientific explanation, Peter began to struggle with the ultimate meaning of life and the purpose of human progress. Although he was leaning toward a belief that human life was no different than that of any other animal, Christian friends began to fill the void that science left inside his heart. Through the love of friends and the pastor of an on campus Christian group, Peter turned toward the heavens and accepted the love of Jesus Christ after several weeks of Bible study.
