Set in a small town in Indiana in 1968, Unopened Letters from Dead Men, is the story of the three surviving members of a family that had lost its matriarch, Janet Hennessy, a year earlier. Big AL, the family patriarch, harbors resentment toward his oldest son, Al Jr, whom he had lost contact with after blaming him for the death of Janet. Billy, a high school basketball standout, is dissillusioned in the aftermath of his mother's death and disenchanted by the expectations of his father, coach and teammates.
