Vaughn C. Hardacker is the author of Sniper a fast paced thriller that follows Boston police detectives, Michael Houston and Anne Bouchard as they hunt a deranged sniper who murdered four unsuspecting people on Boston Common. Houston, a former Marine sniper, quickly sees that the crime was as precise and well-planned as a military operation. In short time the hunt becomes personal and Houston resorts to his scout/sniper training to bring the crime spree to an end.

Sniper is Hardacker’s first full-length novel to be published, although his short fiction has been published by a number of periodicals as well as in several anthologies. His short story, BAGGING THE TROPHY appeared in Deadfall Level Best Books’s sixth annual anthology of crime stories by New England writers.

A product of Aroostook County, born and educated in Caribou schools (class of 1965) and local colleges, an A. D. from NMCC (then Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute), a B. A from University of Maine, Presque Isle, and earned his MBA at the University of Southern New Hampshire. He served in the U. S. Marines from 1966 to 1970 and 1972 to 1974. He has lived in the Boston area, Chicago, and New Hampshire. He returned to Aroostook County in 2009 and currently resides in Stockholm.
