Now his birthplace and the rest of Tibet are in the Chinese province of Qinghai. Dalai Lama was one among seven surviving children. He was declared to be the new incarnation and when he was going to be two years old he would become the 14th Dalai Lama. Owing to persecution by the Chinese regime, Dalai Lama and his followers were forced to leave Tibet. They have been living in India for more than six decades now.
