Surp'Rise by SandeepImagine borrowing a ring and causing it to rise all the way and stand by itself in your hand. Now imagine doing it without using any threads, magnets, elastics, rubber-bands and electronics. With Surp'Rise you can achieve this. You literally "Breath Life Into the Ring".

Here is What happens:

Borrow a ring and place it in your hand. Tell that you are going to breath life into it. Now blow on it and cause it to rise all the way until it stands.

Consider this:

  • No threads, magnets, rubbers, elastics or electronics
  • Everything is under your complete control.

Ring Off by Brick TilleyThe removal of a solid ring from the center of a piece of string in a most deceptive manner. Simple to execute, a quick presentation, and can be done surrounded.

There has been much controversy over the creation of this brilliant effect. Harvey Rosenthal, Ray Grismer, among others, claimed to be the inventor. Whoever it was, it stands as a modern day classic. Brick Tilley teaches the version he has been doing for decades.

The Ring of EOK by Ken de CourcyAn amazing three part routine with a simple piece of rope and a borrowed ring.

The routine is in three parts. In Part I, a borrowed signet-ring is threaded on a rope, then penetrates it. Part II sees the ring again threaded and also knotted on the rope. Nevertheless, the ring visibly dissolves through leaving just the knot. In Part III the ring is threaded and knotted on the rope then a handkerchief is wrapped round it and the whole thing is held by a spectator. When instructed, he allows the handkerchief to drop to the floor to disclose an 'empty' rope; no ring ... not even a knot.

Linking Ring Routine by Jack MillerHarlan Tarbell said to this publication: "The greatest work ever published on Linking Rings." Jack's long cherished secrets are yours in his ring through ring, ring through arms, special three-ring routine, a.s.o.

On top of the linking ring instructions Jack Miller also shares with you a separate chapter on ring and rope penetrations. These latter methods are so ingenious and puzzling as to seem uncanny, and are rarely seen performed.

Test-Conditions Ring Penetration by Devin KnightMagic literature contains a myriad of methods for doing ring on string effects. Many of these involve clever sleights or duplicate rings. The cool thing about this method is that it does not use any gimmicked cord, duplicate rings or any type of sleights. It can even be done with a borrowed ring. The incredible thing about this method is that it is done under test conditions with your wrists tied behind your back!

The performer's wrists are tied behind his back using an examined three-foot piece of string or cord. The ends of the cord are tied to each of the performer's wrists. A spectator...

All Together by Steve SandersWith the help of two volunteers from the audience the magician attempts to demonstrate how to juggle with large metal rings. But, before he even starts the rings start linking mysteriously. Involving the volunteers throughout, the rings keep joining onto one another until the hapless entertainer has to eventually give up as the rings have now been made into one long chain.

Yes, you've guessed it - it's a linking ring routine.

After getting a set of eight linking rings Steve was surprised at the number of routines that do not use eight! So, wanting to get his money's worth he decided...

Rink's Rope and Ring Penetrations by Lewis GansonThis profusely illustrated booklet. with 66 nice clear drawings, teaches you a complete and seemingly impossible rope and ring routine from Rink. The name of Rink of Holland is tied to many wonderful tricks and routines.

This Ganson description is, as always, a masterpiece and tells all you need to know to fool your audience with a simple piece of rope (with a little preparation) and a ring.

From the introduction

"This series of penetrations was built up over a long period of time. The main theme is the linking and unlinking of a solid ring onto a piece of rope, the ends of which have...

Jump-O-Ring by Mats G. KjellstromOnce upon a time I saw a magician do a routine with three ropes hanging from a stick. At the end of one rope there was a silk. He made the silk to magically jump between the ropes. This was amazing. I wanted to do this, but how? Then I invented this routine that's very impressive. Charles Bertram's old routine "Here, There and Everywhere" has the same effect but the method is very different, my method has the big advantage that you can let the spectator check the rope and knots out before the magic happens! Which makes this an impossible illusion. One nice aspect of Jump-O-Ring is that you can...
