(Chicane) Wayne Rogers
Wayne Rogers (Chicane) is acknowledged as one of New Zealand's most inventive and creative magicians. The Auckland based professional, is best known internationally as an inventor and manufacturer of his own unique range of original magic effects. He has also lectured at The Magic Castle, in Vancouver, Australia and throughout the UK.
Wayne performs at a wide range of private and Corporate functions with small Illusions, Stand-Up and Children's Magic. His favourite venues are those where he can work up close to an audience and combine both stage and smaller effects in a one-man show. His current passion is Mentalism.
His best known marketed effects include Appearing Ladder from Anywhere, Missing Spade, Appearing Garden Shovel, Pinocchio's Nose, Appearing Broom, Appearing Hat Stand and the Opinion Pole.
Wayne Lectured at 22 magic clubs throughout the UK in 2001, he is a regular contributor to New Zealand's Magicana Magazine and is on the design team and magic consultant for the New Zealand Ronald McDonald Road Show.
In 1999 his off-beat effect Card on Blue Stake won The Magic Circle Millennium Magic Competition and was published in the Magic Circular and later in The Linking Ring.
Wayne has won most New Zealand magic convention awards plus a couple in Australia. He was voted Variety Artist's Club of New Zealand Best Children's Entertainer in 2010. He is the proud recipient of New Zealand highest honour for a magician, the Grand Master of Magic Award.
