This is for mentalists ... The original version of this effect, "The Key on the String," was first published in Gregg Webb's ebook, The Shade. However, this Super Sessions ebook features an all-new and expanded effect using 13 "thought cards" - no key and string used here, making a simpler and more direct presentation. The featured effect, "Five Card Phlugelheimer," enables you to walk among your audience and allow five people to mentally select five cards from a deck:

• Each spectator mentally selects a card - the deck is shuffled and cut each time.
• The miracle worker rapidly reveals the selected cards.
• As a bonus kicker, a sixth spectator mentally selects a card - the deck is shuffled again. Single cards are dealt to the table as the name of the selected card is spelled - the final card dealt is the selection.

This volume, Volume 10, will be the last issue of Triplets. It will include Magic News including some new contacts and various pieces of magic news. Following this will be many "Thank you's" to all the people who helped me over the years.

The next essay will be a retrospective of the theories that have guided my movements of minimalism and streamlining. These go back to the 60's and 70's when every trick in every magazine ended with "lap the extra item", to end. Many other trends began with ideas that were ahead of their time. In this second installment of Triplets, which is an all-cards issue, Gregg describes a new variation of a card change of Jimmy Groppo's. Jimmy was the glad-hander of one of the casinos in Vegas and would do very direct magic effects for the customers.

Next are some very strong tips and additions to a trick called the Repeat Card to Pocket. At the end, Gregg explains how to do this feat with a signed selection.

Lastly, Gregg explains how to solve some of the common problems of a move called The Misdirection Palm. Many beginners make the same mistakes with this move and miss the point....

In Triplets 3 - The All Coin Issue, Gregg describes a platform version of Hanging Coins with 3 coins so that it fits in with 3-Fly for those that do that trick. Also, the last coin actually vanishes instead of just being held at the fingertips as in the Roth original.

Next is a routine that looks like a standard Han Ping Chien trick but in reality is done by a completely different method - Pseudo HPC.

A routine using the Nokito Box which is described in David Roth's book Expert Coin Magic. A second ending is provided using a regular Okito Box.

In this, the second all-cards issue, of Triplets, Gregg Webb describes some old and some new in the news section, including a review of a rather old book Gregg thinks has good patter ideas for poker-themed card tricks, and some others that are quite recent, and a few things that are yet to come out but will soon.

Next Gregg describes a novel vanish of a card for standup manipulators, and then a card trick based on Schrödinger's Cat theory (from quantum mechanics), and a very direct new incarnation of Real Gone Aces, called Real Gone Queens, which includes a way to do it as Real Gone Jokers. ...

In this mixed props issue from Gregg Webb, it starts out with some magic news, and a book review, and an essay on how today's audiences want shorter tricks, and why.

Next we have a devilish coin trick, Rolled - or Pennies South, where a whole lot of pennies penetrate the table. Following this is The World's Fastest Cups and Balls Routine. In the essay provided in the magic news section is an essay on how magicians often go too long because they can, and why not to fall prey to that impulse these days.

Lastly comes Gregg's latest version of a series of methods for doing a mental version...

This is an all-mentalism issue, and the first essay is about the various kinds of mentalism, to help you describe your "powers" to your audience. These include Thought Reading, Remote Viewing, Precognition, Drawing Duplication, Clairvoyance, Psychometry, Living and Dead Tests, and also Metal Bending, and Psychic Healing (Faith Healing) and unusual "powers" such as Handwriting Analysis. Calling your feats by the correct type of power will go a long way in establishing yourself as an expert.

Following the mentalism issue of Triplets 6, this one, Triplets 7, will also be mainly mentalism, specifically about Equivoque. I learned a lot about this, with 5 objects, from Max Maven's video, and at the same time, I discussed this with Charles Reynolds who in turn discussed it with Pat Page. Then I put in some work of my own and came up with a very practical way of working this.

I will go into every detail. Every mentalist I have shared this with thought my procedural changes worthwhile.

This edition features a completely different routine for MacDonald's Aces and a simple way to make the gaffs yourself. This is more of a platform or parlor version and not a close-up trick. The patter and presentation are also completely different from MacDonald's Aces. This is also different from the version in Hilliard's Lost Notebook. Gregg performed this on TV in 1968 long before Hilliard's notebook was even found. If you pride yourself on being different from the crowd, you'll love this. A very catchy storyline and premise is included.
