Impossible Motorcycle Appearance by Rupesh Thakur

The effect: Imagine this ....

Two large blocks are rolled on stage. Two people from the audience get some cans of spray-paint and paint their names on these blocks. The blocks are placed in the center of the stage. A large folding screen is roiled on, shown on ail sides and placed in a square around the two blocks. Before the front-screen is folded in place two assistants walk around the screens with a flashlight. You can see the light of the flashlight through the fabric. The front-screen is folded in place. The volunteers from the audience may walk round the square. There is nothing to see. And still when you roll the screens away or rip the cloth of the screens there seems to be a big motorcycle on top of the two blocks.

You could perform this with everything that you can get onstage and can be placed on the two blocks. A (water)scooter, a helicopter, a boat, a car. The stage does not have to be dark, it can be completely lit. You do not need a special background, and this illusion does not use blackart. The process of the moving screens is very natural. I can honestly say that this illusion is a great one and it will probably be the next one you will make. You can perform it on any stage, it is not expensive to make ...

These instructions are for magicians who want to build their own illusions. Clear 3D drawings are provided, showing all angles. Included is a complete part list. Exact measurements are given. These instructions are much easier to understand than normal plans available on the market today. A little woodworking skill and a few tools is all you need to start building.

Like a Rand Woodbury idea. No tips like using veneer sheets so paint don't need to be sanded off between shows. Type of wood used or how to mount the cycle so it can't fall over and break a leg. Even how to move it unseen. May work for professional magicians who know about this. Andrew Mayne has more workable ideas. I give 3 stars just because it is usable to some degree. He needs 1 whole page detailing the construction of the blocks like wheels and the nesting idea. The screen needs more detail too.
