Jim Coles
Influence by Jim Coles

You could start this effect like this:

Have you ever known a great salesman? I mean the kind of person who consistently outperforms his colleagues, who’s able to maintain a high level of sales even during economic slumps? Some years ago I became aware of a study of such individuals, and what was especially intriguing is that each seemed to have the innate ability to project his will upon others, to influence prospective customers in such a way that they invariably did what he wanted. I began to wonder if it was possible to hone one’s own influence to such a degree, and I’d like to share...

Stone Cold Magic (download video) by Jeff Stone

"If you are looking for a fresh dose of commercial, audience-tested card magic, look no further than Jeff Stone's Stone Cold Magic. There's plenty of useable card effects presented in a wonderfully friendly, casual and straightforward manner. My only criticism is that Jeff came up with the idea of using the Erdnase-Houdini Color Change as an invisible palm. It looks so darn good, I wish to heck I had thought of it!!" - Jay Sankey

"Jeff is a real worker and tips his mitt in this DVD. There are some great ideas that are really USABLE. In addition, it's just a fun watch as noted by others. Jeff is...

Gemstones by Jeff Stone

"I've been a big Jeff Stone fan for a while now. Not only is he a good friend, he creates powerful, direct and -most of all- commercial close-up magic. I also really respect Jeff as a teacher. He really knows what he's talking about. 'GEMSTONES' is the perfect opportunity to get to know Jeff and learn how his very clever mind ticks!" - Jay Sankey

"Every single trick on it is worth practicing and performing, I think my favorite effect on there is probably Quasi-Photo, I can't wait to practice it. I can really tell you put a whole lot of thought into this project." - David M

Primer by Daniel Madison

Primer is a trick deck that has existed in Daniel Madison's repertoire for almost a decade. At first glance one may judge the deck as a 'beginners prop' but after using it I can say that this is a most powerful tool when performing. It achieves things, which in fairness can be achieved with a normal (modified) deck, but what's amazing about it is that it eliminates the sleights that at some point some of us could do without.

Primer Reader - Card Selection Process
The deck is spread face-down on the surface and a card is freely selected by a spectator as the performer turns away. The performer...

Pariah by Daniel Madison
  1. If you cannot change what you see change the way you see it.
  2. The only enemy is the I inside.
  3. If he can control his delusion, he can rule the world.
The spectator is given the deck and asked to shuffle and merely think of a card. Having removed the freely thought of card, the spectator is asked to write any freely thought of word on the card. The cards are returned to the box and the spectator inserts their signed card anywhere in the deck before closing it. The deck is instantly placed aside or in the performers pocket out of sight.
  1. The performer instantly knows the freely thought...

Coffee & Smokes
The performer introduces two red-back cards from his pocket and places them face down on the surface. He then tells a tale of association and how he always associates these two cards with coffee and cigarettes as these very cards where used in a trick shown to him by a good friend over coffee and cigarettes. The said friend is explained to be no longer living. The spectator is given a blue-back deck and invited to deal any two cards from the deck without looking at them. The spectator is then invited to turn over the red-back cards...one of which...the 2 of Diamonds is seen...

Jeff Stone
King-Side Castling by Jeff Stone

In the spring of 2005 Jay Sankey sent out a world-wide request for audition videos featuring original material from unknown magicians. In response, performers from more than a dozen countries submitted more than 200 tapes and dvds! From this mountain of submissions Jay and his team unanimously selected Joe Diamond, Eric Leclerc and Jeff Stone.

A few months later, Jay, Joe, Eric and Jeff met up in Toronto and over a couple of days taped an outstanding collection of close-up magic and mentalism including 20 effects with matchbooks, coins, playing cards, keys, film canisters, wrist watches, chewing gum,...

Key-Oh-Nee Buh-Lo-Nee by Jeff Stone

The Effect: The magi removes his house key from his key chain and entrusts the spectator with the remainder of his keys. The magus then promptly causes the house key to vanish and reappear on the key ring in the spectator's hand. Sleeves up, no holding out, completely clean vanish. Watch the Demo. This was another big hit of Jeff's on Underground Jam. The particular vanish (a Richard Ross idea) used for the key is the big killer that really inspired a lot of magicians. You don't want to miss this one!

Fun Side Note by Jeff: This effect was actually a dream that I had. I needed five effects...

The Joker lay there in agony trying to recover from the brutal attack that is known on the streets as being "Jacked Up." That moment, something changed in him. His revenge was developing. Dream Vacation by Jeff Stone

The Effect: The magi weaves a story of smuggling Pesos across the Mexican border. Then demonstrates by placing a signed Peso in one hand and an empty (just examined) film canister in the other hand. The spectators hold onto the hand with the peso to keep it from escaping ... yet the other hand (no where near the peso hand) shakes the Film Canister ... silence ... silence ... then suddenly you HEAR the coin appear in the canister. It can be immediately handed to a spectator to open. No switches, no dups and everything is examinable before and after the performance. Don't believe me? Watch the...

The Coolest Ace Trick in the World by Jeff Stone

The Story: The era of the "greasers" was coming to an end. They had all gone by the way side; they had all moved to the wicked city of Hoyletown. But there were a few who wouldn't stand for the death of the greatest era of Bicycle Village's history. The time had come for the last remaining greasers to work a miracle. The notorious Gang of Aces had taken all they could stand. Now is the time to show the world who we are. This is our deck and we're not gonna take it anymore. We'll show them. We will use whatever means necessary to keep the story alive. We will use magic, sorcery and trickery; it...

Dave Forrest
AIR Almost Impromptu Riser (flash video version) by Dave Forrest

Being a huge fan of the classic 'rising card' effect, Dave asked himself the following question: "Is it possible to cause a freely selected and signed card to rise from the centre of a regular deck of cards that is locked inside the card case?"

The answer is YES! The answer is AIR!

Any card is freely selected from the deck. The card is signed before being lost back into the pack. The pack is placed into the box and you focus your attention on the top of the cased deck. Slowly and eerily, a card is seen to rise from the center for well over half its length. That card is the signed card....

DeLorian: signed card under cellophane by Dave Forrest

DeLorian is a show stopping ‘Signed Card to Impossible Location’ effect that can be performed at any time during your act with any freely selected card! And, it’s just as easy to do as it is absolutely stunning!

"I must say, pulling that card out of the cellophane looks fu**in' great!" - Cameron Francis

"A fun trick with a novel presentation and an intriguing method. You've proved that a good trick is all in the details!" - Andi Gladwin

The DeLorian gimmick allows you to apparently remove a folded card from under the cellophane of the card case in a natural and completely deceptive way....
