Effect: Mentalist displays a board with many designs and colors. Three persons are invited to secretly choose one design each. Mentalist passes out three pieces of art board and tells the three persons to secretly draw their chosen designs on the boards. They are then instructed to think of their designs and color. The knowledge in this manuscript allows the mentalist to very convincingly demonstrate the ability to read sealed messages and posses the art of thought-transference! The spectator is told to take his business card out and write out a question and turn the card writing-side down. The card is then sealed in a envelope which the spectator signs and holds. Al Mann was one of the most creative minds in mentalism. This DVD is a live recorded lecture Al Mann gave in Vienna, Austria, at the 1. Wiener Zaubertheater, on November 25th 1984. To my knowledge this is the only DVD available today showing Al Mann in action. The quality is remarkably good for a live unscripted recording from a single camera from the 80s. It runs for a bit over 1 hour and 40 minutes.

It is a wonderful video to watch and see Al in action, as well as pick up a number of tips and several excellent routines. He also explains a fantastic card force he credits to Robert Parrish. This force is so fair and completely absent of any sleight-of-hand,...

Effect:

One to four spectators choose a design out of a choice of 16 designs. The performer either reads their minds or has their choices predicted in advance.

The method is a clever combination of known mentalism principles.
