Abhinav Bothra
Audacious ACAAN by Abhinav Bothra

An ACAAN for stage and parlor performers.

In short: The performer asks 3 participants to name a suit, a number and a value. Next invites one of the participants to deal down the cards. And like it should be, the named card lies at the named number.

Here are the details:

1. The performer asks an audience member (1st participant) to name a suit. The participant does so.

2. Next, the performer moves towards the 2nd participant to name a number (value) between 1 and 10 he unboxes the deck. But then he suddenly remembers that he needs to give out a notepad and pen to record the choices...

Abhinav Bothra
Self-Working CAAN by Abhinav Bothra

An effortless CAAN that the audience performs for themselves.

Features:

  • You never touch the deck of cards.
  • Can be done Close-up, Parlour or on Stage
A participant holds out the fingers of both their hands and drops down any number of fingers. The fingers left extended (say 2 and 1) forms the number (they get to choose 2 & 1 becomes 21 or 12) The participant opens up the pack of playing cards, deals the cards down (face up or face down doesn't matter). The card at their number matches the card you predicted (written on a paper before performance)

Honest Note: While you don't touch...

Abhinav Bothra
ACAAN meets a Monkey by Abhinav Bothra

A merge of ACCAN and Do As I Do.

ACAAN is one of the most loved card plots and Do As I Do is one of the most ignored. ACAAN meets a Monkey is a unique cross-over between both of them.

Flow of Events:

  • A pack of cards gets cut into 2 packets by the participant.
  • The participant picks one packet and the performer picks the other one.
  • Both of them show one card from...

Daniel Young
Polaroid Memories by Daniel Young

This is a very flexible pseudo memorized deck routine resulting from the combination of "Memoria" and "Snapshot".

  • Memoria: This is what it looks like to the audience: Someone shuffles the pack; you let them peek at one card and shuffle it again. The deck is then spread face up on the table. You engage in the memorization process, and after a few moments you claim that you've memorized the whole deck. You gather up the cards and turn them face up, and then you ask them to name their card. You straightaway say that's twenty-three cards down. They count down to twenty-three and deal that card...

Dave Forrest
Route 1 by Dave Forrest

Any card at any number.

At the beginning of your card set you display a blue backed deck and place it into your pocket for later. You then remove a red deck and blow everyone away with all your hottest stuff. Just before you end you suggest an experiment, a long shot if you will. Something that, should it work will guarantee many a sleepless night. You ask a spectator to just think of any card. Then you ask them to just think of any number between 1 and 52. The choices are written on the back of a Joker and left in plain view for all to see. You propose that you will, through shuffling and...

Stefan Olschewski
The Key to Your Card by Stefan Olschewski

Oh no! Not another ACAAN version! But wait – maybe this one is a version you will use.

Stefan Olschewski took the old premise and turned it into a 5 minute performance piece that plays great in any setting, from close up to stage. And it will fool even magicians.

A chest is seen resting on a table center stage. You hand a key to a lady in the audience. Two spectators select a playing card and a number from 1 to 52 in the fairest manner. They may even change their minds as often as they wish.

Card and number are written on a sketchpad for everyone to see. The lady takes the key and...

Michael Daniels
Double Scam by Michael Daniels

"A lovely card effect. Highly recommended!" - Andrew Loh

"Double Scam by Mike Daniels is one of the best purchases I have made in the past year. Extremely clever and the ingenious methodology makes it simple to perform and will probably fool most magicians. But will absolutely destroy laymen. Worth every penny and then some. Diabolic!" - Doug Canning

Double Scam is a two-phase ACAAN effect (Any Card At Any Number). A full deck of cards is freely shuffled by the spectator. Both spectator and mentalist choose a two-digit number. Each then secretly selects and remembers a card. The two cards are lost in...

Simon Caine
The Stained Glass Effect by Simon Caine

A deck is borrowed from a spectator. The deck is shuffled by the spectator. They select a card and commit it to memory. Nothing is forced, no card is mentioned out loud.

A second spectator is thinking of any number between 1 and 52, the card is replaced and the deck is further mixed. Nothing is forced, no number is mentioned out loud.

Only after both spectators are satisfied with the random state of the deck are the freely chosen card and number named out loud (only if they want! This information can stay unknown to the performer the whole time.)

The performer does not touch the deck,...

The Catch-All Principle by Nick Conticello

[Note: If you purchase this together with Sunken Treasury: Part 1 and 2 and Sunken Treasury: Part 3, 4 and 5 you will get The Catch-All Principle for free. Discount is automatically applied in the shopping cart. Also applies if you have purchased the entire Sunken Treasury in the past.

The Catch-All Principle allows you to covertly position a free selection at a predetermined position in the deck. It does this with the help of two key cards. The real strength and novelty of this principle is that at crucial moments the spectator is free to cut the deck, which makes it seem impossible that the selection will end up at a predetermined position - but it does.

Perhaps the best use of this principle...

Timothy Wade
ACAAN Accomplished by Timothy Wade

After fanning the cards to show they are mixed the performer places the deck on a small table or hands it to someone to hold, at which point he never touches or even approaches the deck again. Next, the performer, in order to prove no stooges are being used picks up a box that is filled with paper balls and slings it in an arc over the entire audience asking everyone to catch or pick up a ball near them. When a number of the audience are holding paper balls, the performer reveals that three of the balls have a second red paper ball concealed inside the white. When the three people find...

Adam Hudson
Sum It Up & Out Dated by Adam Hudson

A brand new approach to the ACAAN plot and an exciting way to reveal any spectator's birthday.

Sum It Up

A packet of playing cards is mixed and a spectator freely names any card from within. Next, a small whiteboard or notepad is introduced and the performer writes down sixteen consecutive numbers, inviting the spectator to select four. The four chosen numbers are added together, creating a final total. This generated total is counted to in the packet, locating the one card that occupies that position. The card arrived at proves to be the very one named by the spectator at the beginning...

Tommaso Guglielmi
Mind Influence by Tommaso Guglielmi

Two semi-automatic ACAANs.

In the main effect, the spectator mentally moves an imagined card into the deck in an imagined position only. All this happens without the mentalist touching the cards and without knowing which card and what number the spectator has thought of.

In the second ACAAN, the spectator generates a random card and number then counts to the generated position and will find the card. All this happens without the mentalist ever touching the cards.

The two effects are very easy to perform and do not require any sleight-of-hand.

Tommaso Guglielmi
Eyes of Darkness by Tommaso Guglielmi

This is an ACAAN effect using two decks.

The performer shows two decks closed within their boxes. A spectator selects one of them and puts it aside (This deck will be used later). The perfomer asks the spectator to remove the second deck from his box and to check if the deck is a regular deck. At this point the performer instructs the spectator to select a number and a playing card using a very clean procedure with this deck. The spectator for example chooses 31 and Ace of Spades. Now, without the performer touching the decks, the second spector removes the first deck from its box and counts...

"When I first read 'Scribble' I had a huge smile on my face for the entire time I was reading it. I've just spent the past half an hour trying it out and an even bigger smile appeared! So cleverly constructed, it's a creation of genius!" - Iain Moran

STRANGER
Mat's 'Invisible Deck with a regular deck' opener. A cased deck of cards is placed on the table. A spectator names any card - a completely free choice. The deck is removed from the case and the named card is shown to have been impossibly predicted ahead of time.

Unknown Mentalist
Deckless Angels and Devils ACAAN by Unknown Mentalist

Please note that this is deckless. And that does not mean propless. Two double blank business cards are used in this effect, with something written/printed on them of course, as you will get to know in this manuscript. This ACAAN is notoriously unknown as DAD ACAAN. And this is completely different than the earlier Deckless ACAAN.

3 different participants freely and randomly choose a card value, a number, and a suit. All are fair choices...or so it seems. And you read all 3 minds with a uniquely stunning impact. You can even perform this to a single participant or even in a virtual show or a video call....

David Devlin
The Untouchables by David Devlin

This is a new Any Card at Any Number effect in which (apparently) the spectator does all of the work, and it happens all in his hands. Not only that, but the performer has predicted the entire outcome; the card and the number, far in advance! This is all true. The performer never touches the deck once the effect begins.

Here is the effect as the audience sees it: The deck is shuffled by a spectator. The performer has any spectator think of any number between one and fifty-two, but not to reveal it to anyone until asked by the performer. Nothing is written down. The number is simply thought...

Tommaso Guglielmi
Beyond Reloaded by Tommaso Guglielmi

Give a spectator the deck of cards with the promise that you will not be handling it again. The first spectator is asked to simply name a card and the second one to name a number between 1 and 52. The magician instructs the second spectator to deal to his named number. When the spectator reaches his number, the corresponding card matches the first spectator's named card.

If you look for the Ultimate ACAAN this effect is very close. In this pdf Tommaso teaches you his way to have this little miracle with a full routine without pre-show, stooges, force etc. etc.
