Cards

The most popular tricks are card tricks. Take a pack of cards and perform a miracle. Some of the masters whoes work you will find here are Dai Vernon, Tony Slydini, Roberto Giobbi and many many more. A pack of cards with its 52 pasteboards allows a shear infinite number of combinations and variations of card tricks. A philosophical question to ask would be if there are a finite number of card tricks possible or an infinite number. Looking at the amount of published card tricks it appears to be for all practical purposes infinite. Nevertheless the classic themes remain extremely popular and effective. It is hard to top a good ambitious card routine, card warp, oil and water, card to wallet (or other impossible locations), or torn and resored card etc. But occasionally we are blessed with the grace of a genius who gives us the gift of a completely new trick, concept or principle.

Unknown Mentalist

Deckology: Mystic Deck by Unknown MentalistThis is essentially numerology expressed via a deck of cards. If you have a side for mysticism and or numerology this will be of interest to you.

A deck of 52 playing cards is a mini representation of this Creation itself where Time is ultimate. Hidden deep inside a deck of playing cards are many inner secrets. This ordinary looking deck of playing cards is in fact a representation of forgotten mysteries coded by our ancient mystics. The biggest secret is that each card is 'lucky' for someone at some time.

Professor Hoffmann

Herrman's Tricks with Cards by Professor HoffmannThis is a reprint of the sections dealing with card magic from Professor Hoffmann's Modern Magic. There are however six new pages (four in the front and two in the back) which are entitled "Canfield's Expose". These six pages expose scams such as 'short changing', the 'soap game', the 'spindle game', ...

Reprint is too kind a word, rip-off is more appropriate since this was an unauthorized republication of Hoffmann's material. Also interesting to note is that the correct spelling of Herrmann is with two r's and two n's, the book title however only shows one n. Probably a deliberate error to avoid legal troubles.
