EFFECT: This routine employs four half dollars along with a copper English Penny, and a coin box. The coins are dumped out of the box onto the table. The coins may be examined by the spectators. The performer reaches into his pocket and brings out a copper English Penny, which may also be examined. A gradual transposition of three silver coins and three golden coins with an unexpected climax. Two routines.

Many methods have been devised for the classical effect wherein three coins pass invisibly through space to join three more. "Dubbelkross" and "Simulkross" are two further variations on the same theme; but, not only are the methods altered, the effects are, too. In fact, "Dubbelkross" represents the first attempt (as far as I know) at giving this transposition a definite climax. "Simulkross" does not pretend to give a startling climax, but is interesting because coins pass simultaneously...

This is a wonderfully visual effect. Take a coin throw it at a water bottle, can or other liquid container, and have the coin visibly penetrate the bottle and sink to the bottom.

A large coin is made to spin on its edge around the inside rim of a metal basin.

This effect was popular over a hundred years ago with all types of performers both for parties and at outdoor venues. The high keening sound made by the coin attracts a large crowd of onlookers who become fixated by the combination of sight and sound.

This is an exceedingly clever and versatile way to gimmick a coin to create a stunning and visual effect. It works with many coins including US quarters, half dollars and dollars, some Euro coins, as well as many other coins from various countries.

Effect: You ask a spectator for a coin. The spectator or performer marks or draws something on the coin. You show your hands empty and you show the coin clearly from both sides. At this point there is no secret second coin involved. You simply move your finger across the face of the coin and the drawing instantly changes, either vanishes or transforms...

Charles Morritt was able to hold the entire theatre audience spellbound with what was, in essence, a pocket trick. After inviting two members of the audience onstage he would allow them to figuratively change places, thus transcending and descending their social classes using only two purses and four coins. Two copper coins, held by the "workingman", and two gold coins, held by the "uppercrust", change places while being held in purses by each witness. An excellent coin vanish made famous by Al Flosso, called "The Coney Island Fakir", taught to the author by Flosso himself in the 1970s. It is within the skill range of even the most untutored student of coin magic. It is highly deceptive while being completely natural in execution.

This material provides an involving adventure into the creation of new performance modules as an enhancement for coin effects.

So, just imagine ... You have two empty hands (wiggle-wiggle) and a couple of coins on a table. Maybe they are borrowed or spectator selected from a basket. Three half-dollars – yeah, nothing else. You pick up one coin with your right fingers and drop it into your left open palm. You select a second coin to join the first – see it fall, clink! Two coins now visible on the left palm. Your right fingers claim the final coin...

If you enjoy simple to do magic that never requires a re-set and which you can do anytime, anywhere, you will love this two-stage routine using a 10p and a £2 coin. (Any two coins of different sizes can be used for this effect.)

Both coins are borrowed from spectators and placed into your fist. The 10p is openly removed, shown freely and genuinely placed away in your pocket. Instantly it jumps back to your hand to join the £2.

Then the £2 is removed, but instead of both coins reappearing in the hand, they both vanish and are produced from the pocket. Very clean handling, easy to do,...

An opening magic effect for an unknown audience as scaffolding for a full routine. Full involvement of audience participation and imagination in making the magic happen, with astonishment beyond expectations.

With obviously empty hands as a guide, you have three spectators each imagine a different colored poker chip and pretend to place it your left hand. This prize is then guarded by a fourth spectator as three other guests decide on the order of the chips in the imaginary stack. • Invisiblair: A holdout (a gambling device that has been used for nearly 100 years) that I have modified specifically for coins.
• Folding Half: A gimmicked coin that can be produced under the most improbable of circumstances.
• Double Stick Tape: Providing an inexpensive means to vanish a coin from either hand impromptu and without a trace.

Tired of those sissified Coins Through the Table routines? Do you get an itchy trigger finger when someone says: "Would you like to see my unique handling of Matrix"? Have you sat through a Coins Across presentation that was so complex that even the magician got lost? Are we not men? Then what we need is Silver II. Packed with the bizarre. The common stuff got weeded out in the first edit.

Two coins are shown and can be examined if required. They can also be borrowed if preferred. One of them has a sticker bearing a spectator's initials placed on it. A handkerchief is placed over the signed coin and the plain one is positioned on top of the cloth which is folded back across it. A wave of a magic marker pen across the handkerchief, and immediately the cloth is unfolded to reveal that the signed coin is now resting on top of the handkerchief, and on the table below the cloth is the unsigned one.

Simple to do, this requires one common coin gimmick.

A unique approach to the extraction of the last coin from cord for a Charming Chinese Challenge Routine or similar magic presentation.

The extraction occurs in the hands of two spectators after being inspected by several others as the coin being actually on the cord. This end-phase is cleaner and "stronger magic" than traditional methods but does require mastering new sleights and experienced audience management skills.
