Tom Richardson
Fallout by Tom Richardson

Fallout is an impromptu and devilishly clever, mentalist’s card to pocket. The spectator chooses a card from a deck that he has shuffled, and returns the card. The magician never sees the faces of any of the cards. Yet he still manages to read the spectator’s mind and work out the name of the card. The magician reaches down into his pocket and removes the selected card.

No Forces! The spectator does almost all the work! There's only one real 'move' in the entire routine...The card can even be signed!

You will receive a manuscript explaining all aspects of the trick in high detail...

Demonic by Tom Phoenix

Be ready for Halloween.

This is a dark, multi-phase routine perfect for anyone who appreciates magic with a more sinister tone.

  • The participant selects and signs a card
  • It is placed in their hands.
  • When they turn the card over, a black pentagram has appeared on the face.
  • You hold the card over a flame, and the pentagram vanishes from the card, and reappears on your palm.
  • You then burn the face of the card, and the numbers "666" appear in white writing in the center of the scorch mark.
You will receive a PDF with instructions, as well as additional ideas for how to use the techniques...

The Next Best Trick of the Year by Tom Phoenix

Do a color change, while the card is on fire!

This is a really nice color change, with the added touch of changing a burning card into a different burning card. Included is a method to make the first card travel from the deck, into the box. The change will take some practice, as it uses some un-orthodox moves, but is well within the skill of the average card handler.

Divide and Conquer by Tom Phoenix

This is a series of methods for taking a spectator-shuffled deck and sorting it into piles of red and black - while blindfolded.

And one of the methods (as shown in the demo) gives you the ability to identify the suit and value of each card of a borrowed, shuffled deck, requiring no memorization.

There are six methods in total, three of which use "special" decks (can still be used for your other card magic), and the other two use borrowed decks. All of them can be done blindfolded.

The important thing about these most practical and usable illusions is that they were created with the idea that the modern performer had to carry them in his car, use them on small platforms and stages, or in clubs, and yet had to give the impression of doing a big show. Here you have eleven easy to build illusions which fit all the above requirements, and they are mysterious, exciting and applause getting, to boot. Three Shell Game by Tom Osbourne

The Three Shell Game can still be seen today performed on the streets to fleece the innocent from their hard earned cash. It also makes a great performance piece in an intimate close-up setting.

This is the most detailed description of this con game I have seen so far. It describes numerous moves and routines as well as the history and details on the shells and peas. Tom Osborne knew the real moves, psychology and ruses of the street artists who challenged everybody to "follow the little pea." This is the real work of scam artists. Band on the Run & Flying Match by Tom Mullica

For the first effect you will need a cigar. Take off the cellophane cover and have a spectator twist it into a little string. Then have them pull off the cigar band and put it on the cellophane string. Both ends are held by the spectator. Under the cover of a handkerchief you free the band without destroying it.

The second effect is a neat stunt. While you attempt to light your cigarette with a match the lit match takes off and flies away - like a rocket.

Harry Houdin: The Great Polynational Mimic by Tom Interval

Introducing Harry Houdin—one of the most versatile performers you've never heard of. Born decades before the great Harry Houdini, he claimed to be the nephew of Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin, the famous French conjurer of the 19th century.

Houdin, who billed himself as "The Great Polynational Mimic," toured Australia and New Zealand between 1860 and 1863 with a one-man act featuring drawing-room magic and international impersonations done to song and dance.

Harry Houdin: The Great Polynational Mimic is the first formal work of research written about this virtually unknown, albeit colorful, entertainer.
