A very easy to do prediction effect with a surprising ending.

The performer introduces ten cards and deals them into a face-down packet to prove it. He hands the packet to a spectator and asks him to think of any number between one and ten. The cards are then cut by the spectator and shuffled. Then they are laid out in a face-down line. The performer asks the spectator to, for the first time, announce the number he thought of, then counts along the line to that number and pushes out the card lying at that position. Here is a 21st Century version of John Scarne's Think-A-Card, published by U.F. Grant back in 1938. Whereas Scarne's version relied on the convenience of writing predictions on cigarette papers, Baxter completely dispenses with this quaint idea with a new, slick presentation.

Live from the European Close-up Magic Symposium 2012. This is a wonderful sleight-less classic card routine that Giobbi has polished to a fine sheen with added psychological subtleties and a logical and meaningful presentation.

A brand new deck of cards, still wrapped in cellophane and sealed, is shuffled by different spectators. 10 cards are selected by a spectator. Roberto then divines each card without touching anything. This is a very subtle method to find a freely chosen (not forced) card. It needs some prior preparation, but the deck (cards) are not altered in any way. After the effect there is nothing left to detect and the cards can be handed out or given away.

The method to locate the chosen card is not sleight-of-hand based. But to present it properly you will need some basic card handling skills such as shuffling, cutting, and spreading cards. Depending on how you choose to produce the chosen card you may need to be able to cull...

Obviously you need to use paper money that is compatible with the width of the cards you are using. Often bills can be trimmed slightly if they are too wide.

Wrong Turn is a fun and baffling approach to ACAAN that adds a kicker ending your spectators will never see coming. While most effects in this plot are telegraphed, this surprising twist strengthens the climax of the effect, further engaging your audience, while delivering even greater impact.

The audience chooses a card. They keep it secret. The magician takes out a pack of gum packaged in a blister pack. He makes a gesture and magically a card suit appears on the inside of one gum blister. He continues to shake his hands again, and the value of the card appears in a second blister. The magician then removes the gum from its package and the audience can clearly see their picture card located on the gum.

The gimmick is very clever and requires a bit of 'arts and crafts'.

Based on a Bob Hummer and Karl Fulves principle. A spectator is handed seven playing-cards. He shuffles them, then places one of them aside face-down without looking at it. Now squares of cardboard are shown with cut-out windows. Spectator follows the magician's instructions and, at the end, looking through the cut-out windows in the cards, an index of a card appears. Optic Deck is an optical/visual memorized deck. You 'see' a number 1-52 in your mind's eye and you 'optically' or visually know what card is at that number. Similarly you 'see' any card in your mind's eye and you again 'optically' know what position the card is at.

The stack looks very random, the suits look random, there is no red/black alternating pattern and even after reasonable scrutiny it would be almost impossible to spot a sequence because there is none. Even magicians after being told that there is a stack involved will find it extremely difficult to spot the stack.
