This is one of David's favorite effects. Not only does it fry laymen, but it also fools magicians as well. It can be performed at any point during your act. It does not have to be an opener or a closer, but it could be used as either. It is a very powerful effect because it seems very hands-off and is extremely visual. It is also easy to do!

Effect: Two red backed jokers are freely shown, and are set aside. A spectator selects a card from a blue backed deck, and signs it (the selection must be signed, or the effect is greatly diminished). In this example let's say that the card is the three...

This booklet details Terri Rogers' Boromian Link an incredible linking card effect based on Paul Harris' Immaculate Connection. The Harris original is a great impromptu effect but if you are not working impromptu and can use your own cards then you'll find Terri Rogers' method even better. The linking effect looks excellent and in fact fools those familiar with the Harris original. The effect can be performed with any size cards and looks quite spectacular if done with Jumbo cards.

Box'ing is a principle that allows us to reveal a spectator's selection using a card box.

Effect:

You show an empty card box and a deck of cards and hand them both to a spectator. They select a card and bury it back into the deck. Now you say that you are going to find their card using the card box. You then take the box and shake it. They hear nothing. Now you slowly tap the box on the deck and gradually a rattling sound is heard from silence which suggests that something appeared inside. Now they open the box and find a corner of a card there. Now the spectator removes their selected...

A signed selected card is placed face down into the middle of the face-up deck, protruding for half its length. The performer looks for the four kings and removes them from the pack. The kings are shown clearly on both sides and then placed into the empty card box (this is done by the spectator himself). Now the chosen signed card vanishes from the pack completely. When the card box is opened, the signed selected card is found face-up in the middle of the four kings!

For the killer finale, a king is cut into four pieces and yet the signed card transposes, ending up with the signed card being...

'Card to Box' meets 'Deck to Pocket' in this insanely visual transpostion.

The Effect: You remove the deck from its case and have a spectator freely choose any card - no force - and sign it across the face. You then place the card case into your pocket before losing the signed card back into the centre of the deck. With a snap of your fingers you claim that you have made the card jump to your pocket and appear inside the card case. Your audience doesn't believe you. But, with a totally empty hand you reach into your pocket and produce...the entire deck. The spectator turns his attention back...
