A one card link. Singled out by the legendary Paul Harris for inclusion on his 'True Astonishment' DVD set, Smoke Rings is a truly incredible impromptu miracle!

Smoke Rings is a completely impromptu, 100% examinable linking card effect which requires no preparation whatsoever. Only one card is used, nothing else. No additional gimmicks are required, your hands are clearly empty. This is anywhere, anytime magic with nothing more...

Dave Forrest
Snatch by Dave Forrest

Impossibly produce a card the spectator is thinking of from a cased deck, bound with a rubber band!

Your spectator shuffles the deck and hands it back to you. You make no moves. They think of a card from inside the deck. You make no moves. They are then immediately handed the deck to shuffle again. You make no moves. The deck is fairly cased and then bound with a rubber band. Within THREE SECONDS you produce one card from inside the deck yet the deck itself is still cased and bound. The spectator removes the band. The spectator removes the deck and is asked to locate the card they were thinking...

Raphaël Czaja
Sneak by Raphaël Czaja

12 card tricks based on the same principle.

Sneak is a collection of tricks based on an overlooked principle that allows you to find a selected card under impossible conditions. Thanks to the use of one readily available fake card, every trick in the book is technically effortless. This means most of them are self-working while a couple of them require the ability to hold a break or execute a double undercut. Also included for the sake of completeness are impromptu versions (except for New Deck Joker), based on a variation of a well-known card force.

1) GOOD LUCK: A spectator cuts the...

Dr. Hans-Christian Solka
Snibbets by Dr. Hans-Christian Solka

An easy-to-calculate version of the Si Stebbins stack.

The name 'Snibbets' (Stebbins reversed) was coined by Rusduck. It denotes a reversed Si Stebbins stack where instead of adding 3 to get to the next card's value one substracts 3. The first to publish a negative step version was Ernest Hammond in The Magic of Tomorrow. While this may seem a rather inconsequential change, it has some advantages over the classic Si Stebbins stack. In this ebook, Dr. Solka takes you through the details of this lesser-known version of Si Stebbins.

(Benny) Ben Harris
Solid Gold Easy Action by (Benny) Ben Harris

This is one of Ben Harris's favorite effects. Released in 1987, it featured heavily in his lectures across the '87-89 period and was a total sell-out at the major magic conventions, or whenever demonstrated.

In effect, a small envelope is shown, signed on BOTH sides by a spectator, and then left IN FULL VIEW upon the table. A card is now FREELY selected from the deck, and also signed. The spectator pushes his card squarely into the deck and then counts the cards. Mysteriously, his card has vanished. There are now just 51 cards in the deck.

The envelope, which has been in FULL VIEW the...

Randy Wakeman
Special Effects by Randy Wakeman

From the introduction:

Effort has been made in this work to include material that will appeal to close-up workers of all experience levels. Even those individuals who are just getting their feet wet in card magic should not have great difficulty learning routines such as "The Odds Against Me," "Forefiguration," "The Force is With You," "Six Card Trick," "Nick's Trick," and several others.

Effort has also been made to make this book as complete an entity as possible as you will notice by the rather generous appendix of Marlo ideas that I have included. Hopefully this will motivate serious...

Paul Curry
Special Effects by Paul Curry

Intelligent and creative card magic of the highest caliber.

Excerpt from the introduction:

Anyone going to press with a book "new" tricks should have the good grace to concede, if only momentarily, that he may be placing himself in the category of the mad scientist who spent his time developing cures for which there were no diseases. It’s hard to win points against the argument that a new idea should fill a need, that invention should follow necessity. Yet the disregard of such orderly logic seems, in the long run, to produce some of the best results. Many of the good things in magic,...

Spectator Cuts to 4 Sandwich by Joseph B.

The spectator's cut to the four sandwiches is a succession of magical effects. The magician takes his two lucky cards from the deck: the two of hearts and the two of diamonds. The spectator examines the two cards. The magician shuffles the deck and asks the spectator to cut it into four piles. This is where the fun part begins. Each time the magician approaches the two lucky cards to one of the piles, a card will mysteriously appear between the two lucky cards. The first will be a King, the second as well, and so on until you have the four Kings. It is not finished. Immediately the magician...

Unnamed Magician
Spectator Locates Magician's Card by Unnamed Magician

Imagine:

The magician and the spectator are seated together at a table. The magician hands the spectator a deck of cards and asks them to examine all of the cards (making sure that they're all different, etc.) and to shuffle them thoroughly. After this is done, the spectator is asked to cut the deck into two approximately equal piles and to keep one for themself and to give the other to the magician.

The magician now says that each of them will bring their respective half under the table and spread through the faces of the cards in order to select (and remove) one, which will then be...

Speeding Bullets by Jon Racherbaumer

A survey of the seven-card assembly.

This ebook is a survey of the Seven-Card Assembly, a subcategory of Ace Assembly. Its name due to the number (7) of principal cards used, which makes it different from other Ace Assemblies. Standard versions use sixteen cards - four Aces and twelve X-cards - and when the preliminary layout is made, the Aces are dealt into a T-formation and three X-cards are placed onto each Ace. In a Seven-Card Assembly three X-cards are added onto only three of the Aces. The Leader Ace lies alone. This reduces the duration it takes to set the stage. Then the four Aces...
