A revelation of a freely selected card.

EFFECT: The performer places an envelope containing a prediction on the table. He shows a deck of cards, and he begins to deal cards onto the table. A spectator says 'stop' at any moment he likes. The stopped-at card is placed aside and kept by the spectator who chose it. Several cards before and after the selection are clearly shown to be all different, while the performer states that the spectator could have stopped him on any of them. The spectator reveals the chosen card, for example, the King of Spades, and the prediction is seen to be a Jumbo...

The Thirty Card Trick is a magical classic that can be done on stage as well as close up. It is entertaining to all types of audiences. The classic method (Magicians' Tricks by Hatton and Plate) used sleight of hand and math chicanery. Zens used envelopes. Crandall used roughing fluid. You should find this method one of the best because instead of making the passing of three cards an arbitrary choice it offers a logical reason for using three. Also, there is very strong misdirection. Each step is clearly explained along with the reasoning.

Duplex is a card rising effect from the mind of Kevin Schaller. It builds and improves on an old theme which allows you to show the box from all sides as well as allows you to show the box completely empty before you insert the deck.

A freely chosen and signed card is lost into the deck and the deck is put back into the box. Without any funny moves the signed card starts to rise all the way out of the box.

The best part of the trick is that there are no threads, wires, weights, rubber bands or magnets - just the box and the deck. No forcing. No cellophane needed. Box can be shown empty...

Another version to the classic Card Calling Trick but this one is on steroids.

The spectator selects 4 cards while the performer is facing away. After selection, the performer turns his back toward the spectator. The spectator shuffles the 4 cards and holds 2 in each hand. With performer's back turned towards the spectator - he is able to call out the sum of the values of the card in each hand. He proceeds to identify the cards. And even calls out which card is in which hand.

• Can be done with a borrowed deck.

Box'ing is a principle that allows us to reveal a spectator's selection using a card box.

Effect:

You show an empty card box and a deck of cards and hand them both to a spectator. They select a card and bury it back into the deck. Now you say that you are going to find their card using the card box. You then take the box and shake it. They hear nothing. Now you slowly tap the box on the deck and gradually a rattling sound is heard from silence which suggests that something appeared inside. Now they open the box and find a corner of a card there. A deceiving card control + an intrepid card move = An audacious card at any number

AMBIENCE CONTROL : A single card control from the middle of the deck to the top. Originally put out in The Blind Faith Collection (2015). It can also be used as a phase in an Ambitious Card Routine.

SAY STOP : A Selected Card At Any Number where you don't really need to know the number before hand. Originally put out in Audacious (2013) and as a bonus in C.I.A (2015).

A multi-prediction spelling effect with an unexpected climax!

EFFECT: The magician introduces a stack of predictions to demonstrate the spectator and him are connected through their favorite playing card.

Using a regular deck, the spectator combines the suit and the value of two selections to create a playing card only known to him. Then, he mentally spells its name as the magician deals one card for each letter. He stops him at the last letter/card which is turned face up: The 2♣. The magician spells out the 2♣ to get to another card and so on, until he runs out of cards. The face-up...
