Stephen Tucker was the publisher, editor, illustrator and creative genius behind Spell-Binder Magazine. It ran for three years and had 36 issues and 710 pages. (This does not include the three Special Issues.)

Stephen Tucker is probably one of the craziest people you will ever meet in magic. He may be crazy but he also happens to be highly talented and a very creative person. He has invented many magic effects and has supported himself over the years by performing magic, inventing magic tricks and editing and producing magic magazines. He was the editor and publisher of the amazing Spell-Binder Magazine.

Chicanery is a worthy successor to Spell-Binder and most of the effects within its pages are by Stephen. He gave himself pen names and a typical Tucker touch is that the names are Pen Tell, Mark Erpen, Nick Fountain,...

• Sandwich Box by Stephen Tucker -- Signed selected card appears between 2 previously selected cards within closed card case.
• Mark by Stephen Tucker -- Alternate version of previous effect.
• Demonology by Bob Ostin -- Spectator signs card. Flames cause occult symbol to change to slip of paper with name of signed card. Signed card then revealed to have singed corner & occult symbol on back.
• Esti-Mate-Ion by Joe Dignam -- Spectator looks through deck...

This special little periodical, which only saw six issues, was sent to subscribers of Spell-Binder magazine, but could also be purchased on its own. It only saw a very limited distribution. As is common with Stephen Tucker publications, it features unusual items. Tucker included with most issues some gimmick (special cards, etc.). These gimmicks are not included in this digital reproduction, however you will see photos of the gimmicks, which will allow you to find or make your own.

The Magigram ran for around twenty-seven years and started with the first proper issue in September 1966 and ended in February 1995, in total more than 22,000 pages. Almost every well-known magician from those years made some form of contribution to the magazine including Billy McComb who had an inspiring regular column. The magazine started life as a vehicle for advertisements for the Supreme Magic Company but soon developed into a proper magazine that many magicians took out on subscription. Every branch of magic from close up to illusions was covered and it was one of the most popular UK magic magazines...
