The magician holds up an envelope and says it contains a prediction. He askes a spectator to name any playing card. Performer says the named card is in the envelope. He removes an 8.5 x 11 inch picture that has the whole deck spread out. The performer says: "Look, there is your card right there."

Spectator is presented with a number of Fortune Cookies and is asked to select anyone they like, they can sign and date the cookie packaging. A deck of cards are mixed, then the spectator is asked to generate a random number by rolling 2 dice.

A number is settled on and they're asked to count down that many cards from the deck to a randomly selected card. The performer shows a chart consisting of five colored ESP symbols. He invites four people to participate. Each participant is asked to just think of an ESP symbol shown on the chart. The participants write nothing down, they just think of a symbol. There are no restrictions. Each person could be thinking of a different symbol, or they all could be thinking of the same symbol. They do not share their thoughts with each other. The performer begins to get impressions and calls out three symbols. He says, "If I have called out the symbol you are thinking of, please close...

Based on the old 'Fred' card trick, Wolfgang launched his magician fooling version 'Fred Outdone' in 1990, causing a sensation amongst magicians and adding a unique twist in that the whole deck could be shown as a red back deck, except for the Fred card. Effect:

A card is selected by a spectator and kept face down on the table. We'll say this card is the Jack of Diamonds. The magician claims that this is a "magic card" and will be used later. Magician takes bag and points inside saying "Just look closer right there" and the spectator watches through the see-through bag as an apple materializes in the magician's hand. It is then handed to them to keep. This has been performed many times at the request of magicians, they fall in love with it and so do the spectators. They see you produce natural objects from nothing, miraculously.

In the second volume of The Books of Wonder Tommy Wonder describes what he calls a Frozen Lock. This is a utility device for the Jack Miller holdout, but it can also be used for other holdouts and pulls. It allows one to keep the holdout higher up in the sleeve until you want to lower it. A beautiful sleight-of-hand version of oil and water without any secret additional cards or gaffed cards. You start with four red-backed red cards and four blue-backed black cards. You fairly mix them and they immediately unmix. You exchange one card from the top of each packet the rest of the cards in each packet mysteriously follows. You show the cards from both sides. At the end with the colors separated they suddenly mix themselves into alternating red and black cards.
